Howell's Motor Freight,
Inc. of Roanoke Virginia is pleased to announce an agreement to assume the
LTL freight operations of PFS Distribution, Inc., formerly as the Lovette
Company.
Howell's is a 50 year old,
privately owned temperature controlled truckload, LTL and pool
distribution warehouse and trucking company. Howell's
warehouse/terminals are located in Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Atlanta GA,
Columbia SC, Louisville KY and Portsmouth VA in addition to Roanoke
VA. Howell's operates 250 trucks in its fleet, of which 125 provide
TL services in the Southeast and Midwest.
PFS/Lovette was operated as
an LTL freight division of Pilgrim's pride Corporation, operating out of
North Wilkesboro NC. The operating area of PFS is very similar to
Howell's Motor Freight, focusing on wholesale, retail and grocery
customers in VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, TN and KY. Integration of the two
operations will be completed by the end of June.
A Howell's representative
will be working with the PFS/Lovette staff in the North Wilkesboro office
(336-667-4171) throughout the month of June to assure a seamless
transition of business. Contacts with each customer will be made
jointly by Howell's and PFS/Lovette to make introductions and to answer
all questions during the first week in June.

Howell's is proud to
announce that it joined other environmentally responsible carriers by
becoming a partner in EPA's Smartway Transport Partnership. Smartway is a
voluntary collaboration between EPA and the freight industry designed to
increase energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gases and air
pollution.
